Owner/Lead Guide

About Me

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Vermont, and for the past 45 years, I've called its forests, rivers, and mountains home. From a young age, I was drawn to the outdoors—hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping became more than hobbies; they became a way of life.

That lifelong connection to nature has shaped who I am today. I believe that the more time someone spends in the natural world, the richer and more meaningful their life becomes. Whether it’s the quiet of the woods at dawn or the thrill of landing a wild trout, these moments create lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for life.

As the owner and lead guide of Carpe Diem Guide Service, I’m excited to share that experience with others. My goal is simple: to make every outing a memorable one. Whether you're new to the outdoors or a seasoned adventurer, I strive to provide an authentic, safe, and unforgettable experience in Vermont’s great outdoors.

Let’s seize the day—together.

Where to Fish

Vermont is home to an incredible variety of freshwater lakes and ponds, each offering its own unique fishing experience. From quiet, hidden gems to larger, open waters, there’s no shortage of great spots to cast a line. Be sure to explore our gallery to get a feel for the different bodies of water we fish—each photo tells a story of what you can expect. I’m out on the water every week, discovering new locations and updating the site regularly, so check back often to see what’s new and plan your next fishing adventure!

Outlander 165 SC Fishing Boat

The Boat

The boat we’ll be fishing from was chosen for its versatility on the water. Unlike a traditional bass boat, this setup is built to handle a wider range of conditions, including rougher water that you’ll often find on some of Vermont’s larger lakes. Its higher sides offer added safety and help keep things drier and more comfortable when we’re cruising between spots, especially on windier days.

It’s a solid, practical boat with a stable aluminum hull, a clean all-vinyl interior, and a layout that works well for casting, moving around, and staying organized. With features like a livewell, baitwell, rod storage, and multiple seating options, it’s well-suited for everything from targeting bass in the shallows to trolling open water for trout or pike. It may not have all the flash of a bass boat, but it’s a great all-around fishing platform for the kind of varied and often unpredictable conditions we fish in here in northern Vermont.
